Design Deutschland at ICFF in New York from 15 to 18 of May

After a successful six-day run at the FuoriSalone in Milan, the 'Design Germany 2010' touring exhibition organised by the German Design Council moves to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York where it will open its doors from 15 to 18 May 2010.

"We are delighted with the positive echo from the exhibition in Milan and are now looking forward to presenting Design Germany 2010 at ICFF in New York", says Andrej Kupetz, General Manager of the German Design Council. For the first time, the exhibition shows established products of successful German design brands in conjunction with new prototypes by aspiring young designers, such as Mark Braun, Reinhard Dienes, Yvonne Fehling und Jennie Pelz, Steffen Kehrle, Elisa Strozyk, Judith Seng, Uli Budde and Kai Linke.

The exhibition opens at ICFF on 15 May 2010. With over 30,000 visitors from the fields of interior design and decoration, architecture and retail, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York is one of the world's foremost design shows.

The German Design Council is holding a panel discussion in New York at 12.00 hrs on 16 May. Under the chairmanship of Andrej Kupetz, the participants, who include Wilhelm Seibel, President of mono and POTT – brands of Seibel Designpartner GmbH, Peter Wouda, Head of Exterior Design, Volkswagen Design Center Potsdam, Pierre Nicolas Grohe, Director Product Planning & Development North America, Hansgrohe Inc. and young designers Laura Strasser, Sebastian Herkner and Reinhard Dienes Diaz will discuss the subject of 'Design in Germany – the present and future'.
