Thursday, 17 September 2009, Abitare il Tempo fair The YDMI Young Professionals and 30 selected exhibitors of the Abitare il Tempo fair are invited to this exclusive reception, which will be held at the YDMI Show. The exhibitors chosen are also members of the jury and, beforehand or during the YDMI Days, they will decide on the basis of a presentation which designer/design studio they want to support with the prize money of € 2,000 donated by the German Design Council.

The YDMI Dinner in combination with the Opening Cocktail is one of the highlights of the YDMI Days and will be held within the framework of the Abitare il Tempo Exhibitor Evening. The selected Young Professionals and representatives of design-oriented companies, design studios and the press are invited to the YDMI Dinner. The aim is to make contacts, to exchange information directly and specifically, to hold discussions and to pursue subjects of particular interest to the participants.

The Workshops are an exclusive programme especially for the Young Professionals of the YDMI for Europe. On Friday, four speakers with extensive practical experience – designers, entrepreneurs, journalists and consultants – will discuss different design specific issues on the basis of case studies. The speakers come from Italy, Belgium and Germany.

The exclusive format will go public with the YDMI Portfolio Show in the YDMI Show. Each of the Young Professionals will make a presentation of 15 slides in the space of 3 minutes and, via their methods of working or specific projects, offer insights into their approach to design. Five Young Professionals selected by the jury will give their portfolio show for a second time at the PECHA KUCHA SHOW. On the basis of these presentations, the corporate guests will vote on the winner. The presentation of the award will take place after the PECHA KUCHA SHOW and the winner can look forward to receiving a prize of € 2,000 donated by the German Design Council.
