Subsidiary China German Design Council.

Since 1953 the German Design Council has been one of the world's leading centres of expertise for communication and knowledge transfer in the field of design, branding and innovation – and it has just expanded its international network even further by setting up a subsidiary in Shanghai.

Our Goals

The German Design Council has always worked to promote international exchange, so setting up a member network in China is simply a logical extension of this endeavour. Our members gain competitive advantages through mutual exchange of ideas on a peer-to-peer level, and the associated transfer of knowledge.

By becoming international members, Chinese companies will have the opportunity to become part of a prestigious organisation, and to benefit from our many years of experience and our exclusive networking platform. At the same time, we can help our German Foundation members to achieve greater visibility in China by presenting them as German brands and supporting them in the Chinese market.

International exchange – an opportunity

By taking this step, the German Design Council is paying tribute to the ideal of global networking – because sharing knowledge at an international level benefits everyone involved in the creative process.

Andrej Kupetz, CEO of the German Design Council, explains: “Our engagement with China is completely consistent with our mission to promote design and brand management at an international level. Similarly, through these new business contacts we can provide our current members with even greater support and assistance in the aim of generating profitable international trade.”
