Creative innovation at Light + Building Design Plus powered by Light + Building.

A competition for all exhibitors at Light + Building: Design Plus powered by Light + Building honours pioneering products at the trade fair – thus reflecting the creative innovation in their product worlds: the competition shows how lighting, electrical engineering and building automation can impress not only in terms of comfort and technology but also in their design.

Eligible to participate are all exhibitors at Light + Building. The expert jury assesses the entries with regard to design, ecology and innovation; all of the award-winning products are shown at a special exhibition organised during the trade fair.

Jutta Blocher

Managing Director, Blocher GmbH

Jutta Blocher studied interior design at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, worked for six years at the planning office R. Czermak after her studies and founded blocher partners together with her husband Dieter Blocher in 1989. From the very beginning, the symbiosis of architecture and interior design determined their approach in the group of companies. As Head of Interior Design, Jutta Blocher is responsible for a wide range of national and international projects and has gained a reputation as an expert in brand communication through a design that creates space for brands and identities. She has worked with many departmental, fashion and luxury stores as well as mono-brands. This was followed by a number of projects that architecture for brand evolution, i.e. that communicate brand identity beyond formal design. brand identity. Under the direction of Jutta Blocher, the office expanded its radius of action to Asia. Jutta Blocher is a member of the BDIA.

Ulrike Brandi

Managing Director, ULRIKE BRANDI LICHT Lichtplanung und Leuchtenentwicklung GmbH

Ulrike Brandi studied industrial design with Dieter Rams at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. Since 1987 until today she realized with her office more than 500 projects (indoor and outdoor spaces) at home and abroad. She has published numerous articles on the subject of light.
In collaboration with architects and landscape planners or independently, Ulrike Brandi develops the lighting concept for the task at hand from the changing daylight, which she sees as a characteristic of a specific place, similar to the surrounding landscape. Out of the need to ensure professional training for lighting designers, she founded the Brandi Institute for Light and Design in 2012.

Ulrike Rahe

Managing Director, rahe+rahe design GbR

Ulrike Rahe studied Product Design at HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd and Industrial Design at HDK in Gothenburg. She has been teaching and researching Design as a professor since 1994, first at HAWK in Hildesheim, since 2003 at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. Parallel to her academic career, with her company rahe+rahe design founded in 1989 together with her husband, she has always been working as a designer for industry as for public organisations. She lives in Sweden and Germany.

Oliver Remagen

Managing Director, Remagen Licht GmbH

Always driven by creativity, for example when drawing, designing or cooking, Oliver Remagen is magically attracted by the fascinating subject of light and joins his parents' company in 2006. There he completed his training as a visual marketing designer, and very soon he was delighting his customers with lighting concepts and inspiring them with individual design and interior design.

Since January 2021, he has been the owner of Remagen Licht GmbH, with which he continues the traditional company in its 6th generation at a new location in Cologne. The focus is now no longer on retail, but on lighting design and spatial concepts for private and commercial use.
