Design as a societal issue: the Hessian State Award for Universal Design.

A competition that highlights the societal significance of universal design. The Hessian State Award for Universal Design is aimed at companies, agencies, architects, designers and institutions that make a special contribution to universal design. It is awarded every two years by the Hessian Ministry of Finance, the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration and the Hessian State Chancellery, Hessian Minister for Digital Strategy and Development. Boris Rhein, Minister-President of Hesse, is patron of Hessian State Award. The German Design Council is responsible for organising and running the competition. As part of the competition, the ministries also present a young talent award aimed at students and graduates of design-related courses at universities.
