Design for Democracy – What Design Can Achieve!

News0Exhibition
Design as a process of change, as a tool for peaceful and democratic coexistence: the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt am Main demonstrates the impact that design can have.

The exhibition Design for Democracy: What Design Can Achieve! will be on display at the Museum Angewandte Kunst from 21 May to 28 June 2026 and is being organised as part of World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026.

Around 20 projects from Germany and abroad demonstrate how design can generate participatory solutions to the pressing problems of our time. It links regional design examples from Frankfurt RheinMain with international projects and personalities. The selected projects include VERT, Imperfect Assemblies, SCAPE° and Compath. The exhibition is curated by Anna Scheuermann and Prof. Matthias Wagner K.

As an interactive platform for exchange, it invites visitors to take part in information, discussion and experiential formats. Regular guided tours and workshops, as well as film screenings and discussions, complement the events of WDC 2026 and the Open – Design Week in Frankfurt RheinMain.
