DARE TO DESIGN 2025

Spaces of Care premieres at MAKK Cologne

A highlight of the evening will be the official opening by our CEO, Lutz Dietzold, together with Dr Petra Hesse, Director of the MAKK. In conversation with Tobias Groß, founder and managing director of the Cologne-based Studio für Gestaltung, he will then discuss the exhibition design and its significance.

The programme continues with an interdisciplinary panel discussion led by Julia Kostial, Director of the German Design Museum Foundation (SDDM), joined by mentors from academia and practice, offering fresh perspectives and insights.

We are also delighted to welcome speakers Johannes Voelchert (On AG), Marte Hentschel (VORN Hub and Berlin Business and Law School), and Viktoria Lea Heinrich (design historian and doctoral candidate at Humboldt University of Berlin under Claudia Mareis).

Following the discussion, the exhibition will be officially opened. It brings together 45 projects spanning product and industrial design, textile and fashion design, as well as communication and digital design. While diverse in approach, all share one goal: to spark new impulses for a responsible and future-oriented design practice.

The exhibition runs from 4 September to 12 October 2025 at MAKK Cologne.
