New Presidium of the German Design Council Foundation Elected

The regular assembly of members of the German Design Council Foundation took place on 6 November 2025 at Soho House Berlin, bringing together key stakeholders from the Foundation’s member community. In accordance with the statutes, the Presidium was newly elected for a four-year term.

New Presidium for the Coming Term of Office

Prof. Mike Richter was confirmed in office as President of the German Design Council Foundation. He links his re-election to a clear ambition for the Foundation: “Design not only transforms surfaces, but also ways of thinking and behaving. Design is not about cosmetics – it is the shaping of reality. That is where its social power lies.”

Election of the Presidium in Berlin 

The election underlines the Foundation’s commitment to strong governance, continuity and future-oriented leadership. 

We congratulate the newly elected members on their appointment:

  • Nicole Srock.Stanley, Vice President
  • Philipp Mainzer, Treasurer
  • • The Presidium also includes: Christian Bracht, Stefan Buescher, Dr Saskia Diehl, Bernhard Heitz, Katrin Menne, Robert Sachon, Caroline Seifert, Prof. Dr. h. c. Gorden Wagener and Christiane Wodtke.

CEO Lutz Dietzold thanks the outgoing Presidium for its strong commitment and the valuable impulses it has provided over the past years, which have helped shape the Foundation’s profile and impact. With the newly elected committee, the Foundation is setting the course for the years ahead. It looks forward to continuing this successful partnership – in the spirit of a strong and innovative design culture.
