The winners of the Model Young Package 2024 have been announced

Outstanding ideas, remarkable emerging talent and a compelling signal for the future of packaging design – the international Model Young Package competition has honoured exceptional projects.
More than 400 creative minds from across the globe submitted their projects, actively shaping the future of packaging design. The most compelling ideas were celebrated at the awards ceremony of the renowned Model Young Package (MYP) competition, held in a festive setting in Prague. The event is organised by the Model Group in partnership with the German Design Council – Rat für Formgebung, thereby supporting the development of young design talent.
This year’s theme, “Sweets in the Box”, invited participants to develop innovative packaging for confectionery – functional, sustainable, surprising and visually striking. Entrants presented their concepts in two rounds: the Open Contest for young designers and the Professional Challenge in direct collaboration with industry partners. In total, the organisers awarded €28,000 in prize money.
“I did not expect such courage, precision and diversity of ideas”
– Prof. Pelin Celik, Jury Chair
Prof Pelin Celik, Professor of Communication Design at HTW Berlin and Chair of the Model Young Package 2024 jury, was highly impressed by the standard of submissions: “Many prototypes demonstrated an exceptional level of craftsmanship and design precision, comparable to what one would expect from established professionals. Particularly encouraging was the fact that entries from students – and even school pupils – reached an equally high standard in terms of material processing, creativity and design aesthetics. This shows just how much potential and commitment the next generation brings.”
