Redesign, Relaunch, Rebranding

A new look for international inspiration

The German Design Council introduces a new corporate design and presents a fundamentally revised website. The relaunch is part of the Foundation’s strategic development and creates a clear, consistent framework for content, formats and digital services.

At the heart of the new visual identity is the careful evolution of the iconic logo by Anton Stankowski. It builds on the German Design Council’s design heritage and has been refined for digital applications. The house typefaces, Meta Serif and ABC Social, shape the typographic identity, ensuring clarity, legibility, and recognition across all media.

By consistently using the name German Design Council, the Foundation strengthens its international visibility and establishes a unified brand basis for its activities within the global design context.

New Website With A Clear Structure And Accessible Design

The new website german-design-council.de offers a clearly structured information architecture, improved performance and highly barrier-reduced access in line with current accessibility standards. Content, programmes and initiatives are clearly organised, enabling targeted orientation for different audiences from business, design and institutions.

The stronger digital focus supports more resource-efficient communication and reduces dependence on print formats.

New Content, New Formats, Clear Structure

With Design Perspectives, the German Design Council launches a new online magazine, replacing the previous ndion.de offering. It is complemented by a podcast of the same name. Both formats address key questions around design, brand and innovation, including Circular Design, Service Design, Artificial Intelligence and digitalisation.

Social media activities are also being restructured. In future, content will be distributed in a targeted way via the German Design Council and German Design Council Foundation channels and expanded through clearly defined formats.

Together with the modernisation of the award platforms, the new presence forms the basis for a consistent digital ecosystem and supports the role of the German Design Council as a platform for exchange, orientation and international impulses.
