mcbw 2027: Open Call Exhibition

News0
Munich Creative Business Week is launching an open call for the 2027 exhibition. Agencies, studios and designers are invited to submit a concept based on this year’s theme, ‘SIGNAL — NOISE’.

The mcbw is seeking a holistic exhibition that translates the annual theme “SIGNAL — NOISE” into an immersive space, creating a lasting impact right in the heart of Munich.

The exhibition is to take place from 10 to 16 May 2027 at a suitable venue in Munich city centre. The deadline for submissions is 18 September 2026.

About This Year’s Theme

Our world is noisy: information, stimuli and technologies are constantly competing for our attention. The greater the noise, the harder it becomes to recognise what is essential. “SIGNAL — NOISE” asks how we recognise the signal in a world full of noise. mcbw refers to this ability as ‘perceptual intelligence’ – a combination of sensitivity, empathy, intuition and an understanding of context.

Design plays a central role in this: it shapes perception, determines what becomes visible, directs attention and provides orientation. As Germany’s largest design event and a key meeting place for the national and international creative and design scenes, mcbw transforms Munich into a stage for exhibitions, talks, workshops, installations and much more for a whole week.
